The garden
The historic garden of Villa Torre Fiorentina in Siena, located at Via Fiorentina 45, is a perfect example of an Italian garden. It was built in the late 17th century for the Biringucci family.
The staircase of the villa designed by architect Fantastici leads to the Italian-style garden formed by box-tree beds, lemon trees and with central fountains, which is spread over three levels connected by steps. The upper part of the garden dates from 1800 and the lower part from 1920 attributed to the architect Wander Borren. The upper part of the garden is overlooked by a large theatre of holm oaks, one of the most important in Italy.
The villa is also known for its imposing 14th-century tower, which gave its name to the property and served as a lookout on the Via Fiorentina.
The garden and the Villa are part of the Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane (A.D.S.I.), which brings together the owners of private historic properties throughout Italy.
